Doomsday looming on Christmas Eve?
People were relieved that the world showed no signs of ending on Friday as predicted by many, but one German researcher has sparked fear again saying that December 24th could be the big day.
According to experts, December 21 is the end of the so-called baktun, comparable to the millennial change in our own calendar that was celebrated by people around the world on December 31, 1999, ABC News reported
A baktun is a unit of time in the ancient Maya Long Count Calendar. This existed in addition to a calendar based on the solar year, which includes 365 days, as well as a calendar of rituals that repeats itself every 260 days.
Now Nikolai Grube of the University of Bonn, one of the leading experts on Mesoamerican advanced civilizations, says it is even plausible that the end of the 13th baktun might not be on December 21 but instead on December 24.
So does he mean that the world may come to a crashing end on Christmas Eve instead?
hahahahaha.
